The objective of this type of targeting is to encourage the user to return to your website – and hopefully convert.

Remarketing is extremely flexible and you can get tremendously precise with your targeting. You can target users who visit specific pages on your website.

When someone visits your website, you can drop a tracking cookie onto their computer. Later, when that individual is viewing other websites that utilize Google AdSense, you can display your PPC ad in front of that user again via the Google AdWords Display Network (GDN). Here’s a short list of targeting strategies to use:

1. Visits to your homepage: This is your broadest targeting method. You can deliver GDN ads to anyone who visits your homepage.
-Visits to specific product pages: If you’re an ecommerce client, you can target users who visit specific products on your website. Or if you offer a variety of different services, you can target users for each service they visit.
2. Visits to your landing pages: More than likely, visitors to your landing page will come from PPC. You can retarget these individuals in an effort to gain more value from that initial click.
3. Visits to your shopping cart: If a visitor goes all the way through your website, looks at your products, and actually places one or more items in their shopping cart – they are pretty engaged. You can target users who use your shopping cart but don’t purchase.
4. Visits to your confirmation page: Does your product have a high propensity for reorders? You can target users who visit the purchase confirmation page. You can encourage your previous customers to purchase again by bringing them back to your website with remarketing.
5. Visits to your FAQ/Contact page: If a user looks for additional information on your site, such as your FAQ page or contact form, they have exhibited a high level of interest because they are actively looking for answers. However, if they have to search deep into your website’s content, they may not find what they’re looking for. You can bring these specific users back to your site and help them convert.
6. Visits to your free trial confirmation page: If you offer any type of pre-conversion action, such as a free trial or a whitepaper download, you can target users who complete this initial engagement action. For example, if you offer a 30-day free trial of your product, you can deliver ads to individual who are in this trial period and encourage them to purchase your product.

These are just a few strategies that work.

Your remarketing options are as unique as the structure of your website.

How Can These Targeting Segmentations Apply to Your Website?
Ask yourself these questions:

Why would someone leave your website before converting?
What does it mean if a user leaves your website on a specific page?
What would you say to these abandoned visitors to get them back, and how would you convince them to convert?

Have you ever wondered how to estimate the how many minutes or hours it will take to complete a
particularly large project?

There’s a simple rule of thumb that I keep in mind whenever I try to figure out how long it’s
going to take to do anything. It sounds a little ridiculous but I’m constantly amazed by how
accurate it is:
1) You make a good guess of how long it’s going to take.
2) Take that number and multiply it by at least 3.
If it takes you longer than 3 times your “guess” then you’re obviously way off or wasting a lot
of time somewhere.

If it takes less time then give yourself a pat on the pack. (Yup, this tip might sound
ridiculously simple but you will be amazed by how accurate it can be!)

You know you’ve probably clicked on that Adwords ad that lead nowhere or possibly made you feel like been bait-n-switched right?

Well, some of these might seem pretty obvious to you, but you would be surprised how easy some people forget to check-off these little things before running their Adwords campaigns.

EWA Network

Here with these tips below, you can avoid wasting your money and frustrating your visitors:
1. Insufficient Tracking – Don’t forget to track visits and conversions with your web analytics and conversion tracking through Adwords.
2. Poor Global Targeting – Showing ads globally using eastern standard time, so the ads only show in Australia during the night. (That’s an example country).
3. Focusing too heavily on your brand/trademark terms rather than general terms. People are searching on your brand name already know how to find you. Make sure you’re visible for the people who don’t yet know about you.
4. Bringing people to your home page, where they’ll have to hunt for content relevant to their query, or might just leave. Instead, place them deep into your website on a page relevant to their query.
5. Taking people to a page that doesn’t reference the reason they clicked the ad.
6. Being diffuse and wasting ad clicks in the display network. Start first in the Adwords Search Network and learn what is successful for you there before branching out into other paid search platforms and before experimenting with Google’s Display Network.
7. Managing the search network and the display network as if they were one and the same. The search network shows ads on searches, while the display network shows ads next to content. In the search network, CTR can affect your quality score and therefore your costs. CTR isn’t relevant to quality score in the display network, so the two campaigns can be managed differently.
8. Assuming all visitors are equal. Eventually, you may decide that certain terms have higher bids than others because of the quality and type of leads they produce.

Hey guys, since we’re already one month into 2012 it’s time to evaluate performance to see if any optimizations need to be made to accomplish those New Years goals we set just a couple of weeks ago. Like any other, this year has been very busy for myself as I’ve already traveled quite a lot around Europe.  Since I travel a lot I have to make sure I’m utilizing my time efficiently and being productive every time I sit behind a computer.  I’m an Entrepreneur – if I don’t work, I don’t make money.  The more campaigns and websites I create, the more I can make.

Some tips to optimize your performance:

Check your posture – One thing a lot of guys out there don’t consider is how their posture sitting behind a computer can effect your performance.  You should sit up-right with your feet on the ground and lower back supported.  Shoulders should be drawn back and should not stoop forward.  Improving your posture will allow you to sit for a longer period of time and help keep you focused on each task efficiently.

Use Your Time Online Efficiently – Each time when you sit down on a computer you should consider not the amount of time online but what you accomplished.  Some people may get distracted by checking emails, Facebook, or other social networks.  Restrict yourself to only checking those once you’ve finished what you got online to accomplish (rather it’s a new campaign or optimizing a current website).

Equal Time Executing – If you’ve spent four hours developing a campaign you should spend at least four hours executing it.  For what seems like a no brainer, some affiliates will build something out to only test with one or two traffic sources and then “move onto the next thing.”  If you spend time building and developing something you should spend at least equal time to successfully executing it.

Work Through Travel – A lot of guys will use the airport as a place to tie on a nice buzz before taking a plane ride 30,000 feet in the air.  Rather than doing that, utilize business centers in the airports and connect to the Wifi during flight.  Delta has seriously made it so easy I can accomplish pretty much everything in their first/business class cabin.  From video recordings to Skype conference calls, I’ve done it all in the air.

Clean Up Those Diets – Saturated fats bring you down.  Replace those with fresh fruit and you’ll feel better sitting for long periods of time.  Less fried foods and more lean, fresh items!

Exercise – Believe it or not a nice jog can raise the dopamine levels in your brain and increase your overall mood.  If you’re busy go run a quick 10 minute mile or hit the gym for super intense 25min workout.  That’s not that hard to do and will leave you feeling a lot better overall.

Keep in mind, I’m not a doctor so take these for what they’re worth.  These are some things I focus on and have found a dramatic increase in productivity, energy, and overall success.  They’re quick and easy optimizations you can do for your benefit!

For years I relied so heavily on Google for traffic that if my sites ever tanked in the search results my income dropped dramatically. The stress of trying to quietly feed the “beast” without upsetting it was slowly taking away the joy of internet marketing. Some of you may have heard of the -50 Google penalty. It is basically when Google drops your site to page 5-7 for ANY term. You won’t even rank for your own website’s name within the first 4 pages. After working on a site for more than 3 years and slaving over it to create incredible content, it can be devastating to find that you have been booted to page 5.

But I want to tell you that the best thing that ever happened to my business was to get the -50 Google penalty. Yes, I am still a little perturbed at Google for such a baseless adjustment on 3 of my biggest websites, but I learned something in the midst of this. While my 3 top sites cruised in the search engine I was making a very solid income, but I was not learning anything. I was making more money than I ever had in my life, but I was so content that I stopped reading about new marketing techniques and how I could really optimize my affiliate campaigns. I stopped working as hard as I had to get me to that point. And of course, my biggest failure was to rely on Google for all of my traffic.

Yes, you can make a ton of money by ranking #1 in Google for a highly searched term. But you had better be prepared for some volatility. With every new algorithm update you will be biting your nails. But the worst thing that can happen is to have your site stay #1 and think you have become the master of SEO. In reality, none of us REALLY are SEO experts. Or at least there are very few who are. Do you really know what Google’s algorithm is? It’s probably a bigger secret than the recipe for Coca Cola. Once we get close to cracking the code Google will just make another change.

So after experiencing the -50 Google penalty, I began to work harder than I ever have in my life. Over the last few months I have been learning that Google does not have to be my biggest source of traffic. In fact, there are other traffic sources that can drawf what I get from Google’s good graces. And here is the point: Don’t get settled with where you are in internet marketing. You may be satisfied with how much money you are making, and that’s great. But realize that those income levels can change over night. If you don’t have a back-up plan then you have not been working hard enough.

Embrace those challenges. So your awesome website dropped in the rankings? Tap into another source of traffic and don’t be afraid of paid traffic. As long as you are making more than you are spending on PPC or PPV it is a successful campaign and it is money you would not have had if you were too afraid to try it. Learn how to get cheap traffic from Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets. Learn the basics of media buying and how you can get a boat load of traffic from it. Learn more about html code and php. Don’t be afraid to learn what you know nothing about. Don’t let your ignorance blind you to the possibilities of hard work. Learn how to design a converting landing page and an awesome banner. These are all things I knew nothing about because I was doing so well getting traffic from Google.

There is another advantage to getting away from Google for traffic. You are only limited by yourself. Since you are not relying on Google for all of your traffic you can focus on getting unique visitors from other traffic sources. And the harder you work the more traffic you can get. Unlike with Google where you can spend months building links only to hope that they were on domains good enough for Google to rank you on page 1.

I do still get plenty of traffic from Google searches on my other websites, but the key is that if I lost all of that organic traffic I would still be making money online. Just like your stock portfolio needs to be diversified, so does your online portfolio. They key is not to have your hand in so many projects that you do nothing well. Each week I like to focus on a different project which will keep me focused and keep me from not getting to scatter-brained. I used to try to work on 20 different sites all in the same day and it about drove me crazy.

There are many horror stories about affiliate programs and networks. People have heard them over and over again, that some are even wary of joining one. The stories they may have heard are those related to illegal programs or pyramid schemes. Basically, this kind of market does not have real, worthy product.

You do not want to be associated with these schemes. It is obvious you want to be with a program that offers high quality product that you will readily endorse. The growing number of those who have joined already and are succeeding immensely is proof enough that there are reliable and quality affiliate programs out there.

Why participate in an affiliate program?

It allows you to work part-time. It gives you the opportunity to build a generous residual income. And it makes you an owner of a small business. Affiliate programs have already created lots of millionaires. They are the living testimony of how hard work; continuous prospecting, motivating and training others pay off.

If ever you are deciding to join one, you must take note that you are getting into something that is patterned to what you are capable of. This will be an assurance that you are capable of doing anything to come out successful.

How do you choose a good affiliate program to promote? Here are some tips you may want to look over before choosing one:

1. A program that you like and have interest in. One of the best ways of knowing if that is the kind of program you wish to promote is if you are interested in purchasing the product yourself. If that is the case, chances are, there are many others who are also interested in the same program and products.

2. Look for a program that is of high quality. For instance, look for one that is associated with many experts in that particular industry. This way, you are assured that of the standard of the program you will be joining into.

3. Join in the ones that offer real and viable products. How do you know this? Do some initial research. If possible, track down some of the members and customers to give you testimonial on the credibility of the program.

4. The program that is catering to a growing target market. This will ensure you that there will be more and continuous demands for your referrals. Make inquiries. There are forums and discussions you can participate in to get good and reliable feedbacks.

5. A program with a compensation plan that pays out a residual income and a payout of 30% or more would be a great choice. There are some programs offering this kind of compensation. Look closely for one. Do not waste your time with programs that do not reward substantially for your efforts.

6. Be aware of the minimum quotas that you must fulfill or sales target that is too hard to achieve. Some affiliate programs imposes pre-requisites before you get your commissions. Just be sure that you are capable of attaining their requirements.

7. Select one that has plenty of tools and resources that can help you grow the business in the shortest possible time. Not all affiliate programs have these capacities. Make use you decide on one with lots of helpful tools you can use.

8. Check out if the program has a proven system that can allow you to check your networks and compensation. Also check if they have it available online for you to check anytime and anywhere.

9. The program that is offering strong incentives for members to renew their membership each time. The affiliate program that provides continuous help and upgrades for its products have the tendency to retain its members. These things can assure the growth of your networks.

10. Be aware of the things that members are not happy about in a program. Like with the ones mentioned above, you can do your checking at discussion forums. If you know someone in that same program, there is ho harm asking if there are many downsides involved.

Have a thorough and intensive knowledge about the affiliate program and network you will be promoting on.

Knowing the kind of program you are getting yourself into will make you anticipate and prevent any future problems you may encounter.

The ideal world of affiliate marketing does not require having your won website, dealing with customers, refunds, product development and maintenance. This is one of the easiest ways of launching into an online business and earning more profits.

Assuming you are already into an affiliate program, what would be the next thing you would want to do? Double, or even triple, your commissions, right? How do you do that?

Here are some powerful tips on how to boost your affiliate program commissions overnight.

1. Know the best program and products to promote. Obviously, you would want to promote a program that will enable you to achieve the greatest profits in the shortest possible time.

There are several factors to consider in selecting such a program. Choose the ones that have a generous commission structure. Have products that fit in with your target audience. And that has a solid track record of paying their affiliate easily and on time. If you cannot seem to increase your investments, dump that program and keep looking for better ones.

There are thousands of affiliate programs online which gives you the reason to be picky. You may want to select the best to avoid losing your advertising dollars.

Write free reports or short ebooks to distribute from your site. There is a great possibility that you are competing with other affiliates that are promoting the same program. If you start writing short report related to the product you are promoting, you will be able to distinguish yourself from the other affiliates.

In the reports, provide some valuable information for free. If possible, add some recommendations about the products. With ebooks, you get credibility. Customers will see that in you and they will be enticed to try out what you are offering.

2. Collect and save the email addresses of those who download your free ebooks. It is a known fact that people do not make a purchase on the first solicitation. You may want to send out your message more than six times to make a sale.

This is the simple reason why you should collect the contact information of those who downloaded your reports and ebooks. You can make follow-ups on these contacts to remind them to make a purchase from you.

Get the contact information of a prospect before sending them to the vendor’s website. Keep in mind that you are providing free advertisement for the product owners. You get paid only when you make a sale. If you send prospects directly to the vendors, chances are they would be lost to you forever.

But when you get their names, you can always send other marketing messages to them to be able to earn an ongoing commission instead of a one-time sale only.

Publish an online newsletter or Ezine. It is always best to recommend a product to someone you know than to sell to a stranger. This is the purpose behind publishing your own newsletter. This also allows you to develop a relationship based on trust with your subscribers.

This strategy is a delicate balance between providing useful information with a sales pitch. If you continue to write informative editorials you will be able to build a sense of reciprocity in your readers that may lead them to support you by buying your products.

3. Ask for higher than normal commission from merchants. If you are already successful with a particular promotion, you should try and approach the merchant and negotiate a percentage commission for your sales.

If the merchant is smart, he or she will likely grant your request rather than lose a valuable asset in you. Keep in mind that you are a zero-risk investment to your merchant; so do not be shy about requesting for addition in your commissions. Just try to be reasonable about it.

Write strong pay Per Click ads. PPC search engine is the most effective means of advertising online. As an affiliate, you can make a small income just by managing PPC campaigns such as Google AdWords and Overture. Then you should try and monitor them to see which ads are more effective and which ones to dispose of.

Try out these strategies and see the difference it can make to your commission checks in the shortest of time.

Ask questions first before you join an affiliate program. Do a little research about the choices of program that you intend to join into. Get some answers because they will be the deciding point of what you will be achieving later on.

Will it cost you anything to join? Most affiliate programs being offered today are absolutely free of charge. So why settle for those that charge you some dollars before joining.

When do they issue the commission checks? Every program is different. Some issue their checks once a month, every quarter, etc. Select the one that is suited to your payment time choice. Many affiliate programs are setting a minimum earned commission amount that an affiliate must meet or exceed in order for their checks to be issued.

What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the average number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This factor is extremely important because this will tell you how much traffic you must generate before you can earn a commission from the sale.

How are referrals from an affiliate’s site tracked and for how long do they remain in the system? You need to be confident on the program enough to track those people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you can credit for a sale. The period of time that those people stay in the system is also important. This is because some visitors do not buy initially but may want to return later to make the purchase. Know if you will still get credit for the sale if it is done some months from a certain day.

What are the kinds of affiliate stats available? Your choice of affiliate program should be capable of offering detailed stats. They should be available online anytime you decide to check them out. Constantly checking your individual stats is important to know how many impressions, hits and sales are already generated from your site. Impressions are the number of times the banner or text link was viewed by a visitor of your site. A hit is the one clicking on the banner or text links.

Does the affiliate program also pay for the hits and impressions besides the commissions on sales? It is important that impressions and hits are also paid, as this will add to the earnings you get from the sales commission. This is especially important if the program you are in offers low sales to be able to hit ratio.

Who is the online retailer? Find out whom you are doing business with to know if it is really a solid company. Know the products they are selling and the average amount they are achieving. The more you know about the retailer offering you the affiliate program, the easier it will be for you to know if that program is really for you and your site.

Is the affiliate a one tier or two tier program? A single tier program pays you only for the business you yourself have generated. A two tier program pays you for the business, plus it also pays you a commission on the on the sales generated by any affiliate you sponsor in your program. Some two-tier programs are even paying small fees on each new affiliate you sponsor. More like a recruitment fee.

Lastly, what is the amount of commission paid? 5% – 20% is the commission paid by most programs. .01% – .05% is the amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays for impressions, the amount paid is not much at all. As you can see from the figures, you will now understand why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is important.

These are just some of the questions that needed answering first before you enter into an affiliate program. You should be familiar with the many important aspects that your chosen program should have before incorporating them into your website. Try to ask your affiliate program choices these questions. These can help you select the right program for you site from among the many available.
